Be More Conscious
Being more conscious means not only developing a heightened self-awareness of our influence in the world, but also intentionally choosing to take responsibility for that influence.
C-Suite Leaders and Founders usually operate in environments in which creative problem solving is necessary. Being more conscious, opens up the opportunity to shift from an unconscious, triggered state, to one that unlocks creativity, innovation and collaboration.
In addition, conscious leaders are better equipped to navigate complex situations, manage stress, and inspire confidence, thereby expanding their capacity and capability to lead effectively.
I am particularly fond of the above and below the line model of conscious leadership offered by the Conscious Leadership Group. Their framework “The 15 Commitments of Conscious Leadership” is particularly powerful. I use this regularly with clients, along with the 5 Dimensions (and subset of 23 skills and qualities) of the Inner Development Goals Framework, Transformational Skills for Sustainable Development.
Being more conscious enables leaders to bring more of themselves to the present moment, expanding their capacity and capability to meet some of the most pressing needs of people and planet.
Be More Connected
As humans we are literally (and figuratively) wired to connect. Anthropology and our most up-to-date understanding of our neurobiology teach us that being connected is one of our deepest needs. And yet our technologies and their impact on popular culture tend to devalue its meaning, de-skill our society and dis-connect us.
Re-learning to more meaningfully and genuinely connect is one of the highest priorities for leaders at this point in humanity’s story.
I love working with exceptional leaders to help them connect with the magnificence of who they are, the magic of human connection and the mystery of their place in the Universe.
From this more connected place, purpose is forged, gratitude and appreciation arise naturally, love abounds, and hope fuels imagination, such that collaboration is supercharged and impact multiplied.
Cultivating this ‘intra’ and ‘inter’ connectedness ensures that leaders become available to leverage diverse perspectives, facilitate open communication, and harness collective intelligence to solve complex/wicked/hard problems creatively and drive innovation.
By being more connected, leaders enhance their ability to lead with empathy and inclusivity, thereby expanding their capacity to mobilize and inspire their teams towards shared goals.
Be More Creative
Creative leaders are adept at navigating ambiguity, exploring new possibilities, and envisioning future trends and opportunities. By fostering creativity, leaders can drive innovation, adapt to changes more swiftly, and develop unique solutions to complex challenges.
For C-Suite Leaders and Founders, expanding their creativity, and unleashing it in their teams, is essential for building effective organizations. This is especially urgent in a world where double exponential technologies are reshaping every aspect of our lives and disrupting every industry.
This accelerating pace of change is unfamiliar and unprecedented.
For some, this change is a threat. For others, it’s an opportunity. For most, it’s both… and for each us and our organizations it is a constant and immediate struggle to adjust to this new state of dynamic equilibrium.
Creativity enables us to confidently and curiously challenge the status quo, forge new realities, and also respond to the challenge of unanticipated change.
Being more creative expands a leader's capacity to envision and implement transformative strategies, leading to more effective and impactful leadership.
